Thanks to the invisible army

At the A.G.M. of the Bath Cats & Dogs Home held on Monday 25th June 2012 I was surprised and honoured to be the recipient of The Bronze Badge from the R.S.P.C.A. together with a certificate which read – “This is to certify that Mr. R. J. Eastman has been presented with The Bronze Badge.  Robin has been an active member of the ‘Friends of BCDH’ and is currently the Chairman of their Committee. He has been instrumental in the raising of many thousands of pounds over the last 15 years”.

Whilst it is my name on the award I am acutely aware that it was not just me that raised the monies over the last 15 years.  I have accepted the accolade on behalf of those individuals, past and present, who have selflessly given of their time, often in appalling conditions, in support of the Friends and the Home. These individuals turn out at Supermarkets, Street Collections and Fund Raising events, often as a result of just a phone call.

These supporters are not generally seen in any capacity at the Home, hence my title for them “The Invisible Army”. I could not have hoped to achieved this award without your help so please accept my grateful thanks for all your help, long may it continue. Give yourselves a pat on the back, the award is really yours and you all deserve it.
