The generosity of bikers

Once a month I help out at the Friends of Bath Cats and Dogs Home refreshment mornings.  This morning I was there to see 74 bikes from Bristol & Avon Roadrunners MCC, lots of bikers, a gorgeous field spaniel arriving in a side car and a huge amount of generosity.

They all arrived at about 11.45 and we were happy to serve them hot drinks, cake and bacon rolls – with apologies to anyone who didn’t get one!  They came with loads of food for all the cats and dogs currently staying here – that’s one kind of charitable act, but I lost count of all the bikers who, after paying with a £20 or £10 note for a piece of cake or a bacon roll, told me to keep the change!

Your generosity was overwhelming.  Thank you so much to all of you who gave up your Sunday to drive over with food for the animals or made a donation.  We never take for granted the people who want to make life better for all the Home’s residents.  Hope you all had a safe journey home.
